President's Art Show

Participated in the President's Art show at the Salt Lake Community College.  It's closing tomorrow.  It was a good opportunity to get my art out there and pick up some life lessons along the way.

Japanese Commission

Received permission to sell paintings in a Japanese grocery store I frequent provided they had a Japanese theme.  My first is still a work in progress but here it is so far:

I decided to go with Japanese carp.  Pretty traditional subject.  Again paper and acrylic

Who doesn't love a little other worldly imagining.  Here is my take on asteroid B612.  Hope you love "Le Petit Prince" as much as I do.

Decided to go smaller this time.  Another collage and acrylic piece.

A painting birthday party

My step-son went to a friend's birthday at a local shop called Painters Palette where the kids were each given a canvas and paints then led through a painting by a teacher on site.  My friend who's daughter it was paid for me to paint so I could have fun while I stayed with the kids.  So with the limited palette choice and crappy brushes the kids were given I came up with the painting above in about 30 minutes.

It was pretty cool.   All the kid's paintings though similar were each unique.  Really fun!

Digital finger painting

Waiting for a friend to meet me for brunch Saturday.  Decided to try using a drawing app on my phone to free paint.  I use no stylus for my iPhone so it was essentially finger painting with my thumbs.
