A Birthday Princess

I had a girl at work ask me if she could commission a drawing for her 13 year old daughter's birthday. However she only gave me to the end of the work day.

me, me, me

I find it amazing to go through my sketchbooks and see how many times I draw little cartoon versions of myself. I wonder if I do this because my own face is something I'm very familiar with or if it is because I am fascinated by my own features. Whose to say I don't just do it because it's easy to draw my own self.

MonaVie Employee Stuff

At one point we had an employee activity that we had to make activity books as teams and then there were contests based on our activity books. My contribution was a page on how well you knew your MonaVie juice, by circling the things that didn't belong. Needless to say I had fun with this.

Dressed up animals

Here are some silly little sketches I did on scratch paper when I worked at Unisys. For some reason everyone decided they wanted to have animals dressed in clothes like people.

One person decided that she wanted me to color her drawing in the end. I think it turned out pretty well.

The Last Year's Worth

Working in a call center when it's busy is not the most ideal place to find both time and opportunities to draw and paint, however I found that through doodling in sketchbooks when the phone queues were not busy and the requests that co-workers gave me I was able to challenge myself just a little.

These drawings were requests. I made a deal with my co-workers that if they let me keep the original piece and give them a print I would do these for free. I considered these more as practice pieces and decided that keeping the pieces would be beneficial for my portfolio as well. Generally I would just use the supplies that we had around the office like printer paper and crayola colored pencils.
